Mac OS 9.0 Released!
<article incomplete as of 02 Dec 1999@15:19:27 hrs CST>

What's new in OS 9.0?

Sherlock 2 - Expands Sherlock's capabilities

Searching the Internet

The interface, though greatly improved, still has a few minor quirks that Apple seems to be having difficulties integrating; it's as though they've misplaced their copy of HIG. Still, having the results window appear below your search query is a nice return to Apple's famed ease-of-use.

  • The one thing that I am not overly impressed with is the "Favorites" drawer, similar to the one in the Quicktime Player - the replacement for the venerable Movie Player.

Mac OS 8.6 Update

This is a free upgrade for those who have been using OS 8.5 or OS 8.5.1, and can be downloaded off the internet at no charge. Simply click one of the links below to begin downloading it. Or, you can also get the 8.6 updater on CD-ROM by calling the Apple Order Center at 1-800-293-6617 (U.S.) or 1-888-295-0653 (Canada). *** Note: This operating system is not available for pre-PowerPC Macintosh models, and will only work on PowerPC models and the new G3 / G4 models.

Exclusive: Bill Gates is the Antichrist!

Let he who has eyes, let him see... We here at STMUG, in a never-ending pursuit of excellence, have discovered irrefutable proof that Bill Gates is the Antichrist... (or maybe it's that one Teletubbie of his...)
