Our Readers
(Reader's List  below)

        Every student must be reading the book assigned before he/she will be listed as a reader.

   The students that need extra practice in reading before going into AR books are given  the book A Treasury of Dick and Jane and Friends  to read.  After they successfully read most of the chapters in Dick and Jane,  ( he/she must be able to read in the book Dick and Jane with little, or no help from the teacher) they advance to reading AR books.

        Beginning readers read Saxon Little Readers.  Saxon books contain  words which may be phonetically sounded out and have some sight words scattered throughout the book.  Students must be able to read by him/herself all the Saxon Readers (1-14 ) with little or no help from the teacher before being given the book Dick and Jane to read.  Also, students must be reading in book  level six of the Saxon Little Readers before being placed on the reading list.
