Microsoft Exchange (Inbox of Windows 95) Setup
Choose the settings options for the email program you are using. If you receive any errors starting one of these applications see the startup and component problem section. Also you may find slight differences in your email program from what is listed here. There are slight variations between the various versions.
Note: This setup is for the original Windows 95 version off the CD-ROM.
1.Start the Inbox, click Tools, and choose Services.
2.Highlight Internet Mail and click on Properties.
3.Enter the following information:
a.Type your name as you wish it to appear in the Full name field.
b.Type your email address (yourusername@2fords.net) in the field E-mail address.
c.The Internet Mail server should be mail.2fords.net
d.Account name should be your user name only. NOT your whole email address.
e.Type your password in the Password field.
f.Click on Advanced Options and enter the SMTP server and click OK. (smtp.2fords.net)
g.Click the Connection tab and choose the Dial Up Networking connection you are using. Choose 2 Fords Network if that is what you named it when you set up your Windows 95 Dialer.
4.Click OK twice.
5.All other settings are your own choice of preferences. If you were missing any components like Internet mail see the startup and component section. below.
Components Missing or Receiving Startup Error Messages
If you receive errors about "Unable to open your default mail folders" or you are missing installed Components like "Internet Mail." You need to properly configure your Windows 95 system. Usually the mail program you are using will give you specific instructions. If not you need to go directly to the Mail and Fax icon in Control Panel. Services, default mail folders, and address books are installed and added here. Use the Windows 95 help for the specific component you would like to install. Contact your Windows 95 provider for specific help on your system.
