General (Generic) Mail Settings

 

Verify you have a copy of your Email Settings before proceeding.

Getting to the Application Server Settings

Start the Email Application you would like to use by double clicking the Icon.

Locate and start the Server Settings of the Mail program. It may be referred to as Network Settings and should contain fields for the POP3 (Incoming) and SMTP (Outgoing) Mail Servers.

Setting up for Incoming Mail

In order to successfully retrieve your email you only need three settings:

1.POP3 (Incoming) Mail Server- This is mail.2fords.net

2.POP3 Email Username (Userid)- This is your username

3.Email Password- This is the same as your login password.

Using the above information, you should be able to configure any email program with a little time and patience. Follow the directions below.

Type your POP Server in the POP3 (Incoming) Mail Server field.

Type your Email username in the Username field.

Type your Password in the Email Password field.

Note: If there is not a password field you will be prompted for the password before downloading your mail.

Once the POP Server, Username and Password are supplied to your email program, you are ready to download your mail.

Setting up for Outgoing Mail

In order to successfully send your email you only need two settings:

1.SMTP (Outgoing) Mail Server- This is smtp.2fords.net

2.Email Address- This is the Email Address you were assigned at registration. It is yourusername@2fords.net

Using the above information, you should be able to configure any outgoing email program with a little time and patience. Follow the directions below.

Type your SMTP Server in the SMTP (Outgoing) Mail Server field.

Type your Email Address in the Reply to and(or) Email Address field.

Once the SMTP Server and Email address are supplied to your email program you are ready to send your mail.
