By now, the Bel Aire was no longer the top dog in the Chevy line. And the tail fins were going back down but their influence can still be seen here in this Impala. Muscle was beginning to be important, and four speed transmissions, before available only on the corvettes were now coming out as optional equipment on the bigger models.
